Achooooo!

I've been sneezing like crazy today (must be some sort of allergy season)...and I was using Puffs tissues. I've had this on my mind for a while...but now I have some place to rant about it. I absolutely love the characters they use to advertise Puffs! They remind of of those classic Christmas claymation movies. ('Twas the Night Before Christmas") Check out: Puffs.com

If you like these, you should check out Paul Berry's creepier film, The Sandman/ I saw it when I was in highschool, I think, in an animation festival. His work for Puffs has been cleaned up, much like what happened when Nick Park first made it big with Aardman. Again, great to see stop motion being used in commercials. Great post, Renee!

Here's another clip from YouTube with better quality:

The Sandman (1992)

I remember the first time I saw this. I was pleasantly horrified. The first time I saw these characters in Puffs commercials a couple years ago, I immediately remembered the film. Love how the Sandman clicks his arms together. The pacing is perfect, and storytelling dead-on. I guess he worked with Tim Burton on a couple of films (no surprise there!)
